Study in Czechia: universities, tuition fees and admission

Our catalogue has 57 universities and colleges in Czechia offering 1,301 undergraduate programmes in 19 cities. 1,190 of the programmes are at public institutions and 111 at private ones.

Always check current information on the official website of the university before you apply.

How admission works

Admission is decided by each faculty: an entrance exam (often the Scio National Comparative Exams or the faculty's own test), and for some programmes admission based on secondary-school results; there are no published cutoff scores. A foreign secondary-school diploma must be recognised in Czechia (nostrification), except for countries that have a recognition agreement with Czechia. Czech-taught programmes require Czech, usually at B2 level.

Tuition fees in Czechia

At public universities an EU student typically pays no tuition fee, and a student from outside the EU no tuition fee. All amounts are per year in euros; fees charged per credit or per semester are converted to a full year (60 ECTS credits or two semesters).
