How admission works in Italy
Access depends on the programme: free access (with an initial knowledge check), local limited places (the university's own admission test, often a TOLC by CISIA) or national limited places (Medicine, Dentistry and Veterinary: from 2025/26 an open first 'filter semester' with national exams and a ranking; Architecture, primary-school teaching and health professions: tests on national dates).
